Soap API

We get told that QlikView data needs to be more visible, and that may go beyond in-house developed applications, portals or web pages. The Soap API is able to extract data from QlikView, into other applications or reporting systems. In essence we can make QlikView the middle layer.
Do you keep multiple stacks of software delivering the same thing? Do you need to consolidate to a single version of truth, for everyone? Project Brokers’ SOAP API may be the answer for you.
One challenge facing many institutions is that data is stored in a variety of management systems that are non-conversant, incompatible and hinder any efforts to produce meaningful analytics and insights. As a result, data only reaches a limited audience and decision-makers often only have access to individual reports, produced from individual systems, restricting overall visibility.
To overcome this problem, Project Brokers has created the SOAP API for QlikView which simplifies the business intelligence reporting framework. It does this by utilising the QlikView API to communicate with the QlikView server and return data to the requesting client application. The SOAP API is a simple interface to QlikView allowing other applications and reporting systems to query your existing QlikView application, in essence making QlikView your middleware, and other front-end systems get the goodness of QlikView, Its powerful aggregations and verified, correct reports on demand.
The SOAP API is extremely beneficial as it promotes a single version of the truth by enabling result sets displayed in QlikView, to be reused for wider reporting consumption throughout the enterprise. It also ensures that business logic can exist in a single place, and if implemented in QlikView it does not need to be re-defined elsewhere.
By using the SOAP API users can harness both QlikView’s load script and front-end expression logic. By integrating it deeper into the enterprise infrastructure, we break down data siloes by allowing appropriate data access.
The SOAP API has been developed using J2EE, and is therefore platform independent. It acts as a data extraction mechanism which works alongside your existing architecture. A word of caution, this API is for lightweight usage, and for any deep down/intensive interaction with data, we recommend using QlikView’s intuitive frontend only.
